The Cattle Are Coming!

Spring Break March 15th – 19th at The George Ranch Historical Park

Spring Break 2022 is all about cattle, horses, cowboys and fun at The George Ranch Historical Park. Explore more than 100 years of Texas history March 15th – 19th with a Chuckwagon Breakfast, calf roping demonstrations, steer roundups, cowboys by the campfire and more!

“Spring break is a great time to visit the Park,” said Director of Programs Susan Vanderford. “This year we’re featuring cowboys and the cattle business in the late 1800s with live demonstrations and events daily. We’re hoping for good weather and want families to come out for all the great outdoor action.”

Spring Break activities kick off Saturday, March 12th with a Chuckwagon Breakfast out on the range near the Old Prairie Home. Two morning seating times are limited to 50 guests each and feature a full ranch style meal with eggs, biscuits, beans, bacon and beverages. An exclusive calf roping show will be presented to each group. After the breakfast, guests can enjoy tours of the historic houses, catch the blacksmith in action at his shop and explore the Heritage Nature Trail.

Tuesday through Saturday of Spring Break week, the cowboys will be in action daily with steer round ups at the cattle car, cooking at the Line Camp, open pasture calf roping and even a few cattle auctions. Check the website for the daily schedule of events and add a visit with the George Ranch cowboys to your Spring Break activity list.
