Autumn in Fort Bend County is a time of tradition. The Arc of Fort Bend’s Best in the West is one of our time-honored activities.

Once again the presenting sponsor for this year’s dinner, dance and auction is Prosperity Bank. Under the leadership of chairpersons Jenny Gortney, James Patterson, Debbie Peterson and Ann Smith, this event promises a unique time of charity and friendship. The George Ranch will open its gates at 6 pm on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 where a delicious bar-b-que meal with all the trimmings will be served from 6:30 to 9 pm. The popular band Horizon will provide music for your entertainment and dancing pleasure from 7:30 pm until midnight. Additionally, just in time for holiday shopping, a much-anticipated variety of items will be available from both live and silent auctions, a raffle, numerous corrals and the unique “Ace in the Hole” Bid Board.

All proceeds from the Best in the West benefit The Arc of Fort Bend County. Established in 1968 by a group of parents wanting to improve the lives of their children who had intellectual and developmental disabilities, this organization ensures opportunities for them to maximize their quality of life within our community. Advocacy for their inclusion from infancy through adulthood has resulted in dramatic growth of resources and activities designed for them, their parents and families. Increased awareness, inclusion and understanding have added to the positive diversity of our community.
