Suburban Sugar Land Women and Partners Award Scholarships

Suburban Sugar Land Women (SSLW) and Phenomenal Partners recently held their 29th annual Service and Academic Excellence Luncheon honoring 2018 Scholarship Recipients. The annual and competitive scholarships are awarded each March  and July based on SSLW community service, academic excellence, leadership and funds raised.

Mose Austin was the Master of Ceremony for the event, and Marvelyn Harris, Scholarships Chair,  welcomed and introduced recipients, their families and partners.  Mable Scott Austin shared the history, purpose, mission, programs and projects, and Elise Leaks Harmon reviewed the scholarship process.

Scholarship recipients were presented with a framed scholarship certificate and tote of college necessities. The totes were donated by Amazing Smiles, Dr. Margaret J. Allen and Belinda Allen, Joel and Elise Harmon and Mose and Mable Austin.
