Fall . . . Finally!
Fall is absolutely the best time of year in Fort Bend! We get a reprieve from the Texas temperatures, and the season brings so many of my favorite outdoor things – festivals, football, and of course, the Fair!
Throughout our community, festivals abound this time of year. From the time our kids were very young, we always attended local festivals. It’s the best in family-friendly entertainment, and you might just learn something along the way. One of our kids’ favorites was always Texian Market Days at the George Ranch. This year marks the 34th year of this annual event, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The year’s 81st Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo is right around the corner, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy this year. Grapes on the Brazos, the official wine bar at the Fair, has expanded its space and offerings, and the entertainment line up is stellar. The rodeo features first class athletes and the exhibits, special events and livestock all add up to a great time. Read all about what the Fair has to offer on page 16. Best of all, proceeds from the Fair support Fort Bend youth. Fair, philanthrophy and fun – now that’s a win-win!
One thing that festivals, football and the Fair has in common is family, and there’s an amazing organization in our community that is devoted to caring for our family. Speaking of winning, it’s now officially football season, and I admit it, I love my burnt orange game days. Game days are a family affair at our house. Most of us enjoy watching the game, but some of us – I won’t name names Dad – simply watch to look for Kassidi in the crowd. And, she has been spotted a couple of times. Here’s to enjoying all of our fall favorites, and of course, hook em horns!
