Lupe Tortilla, an authentic, Tex-Mex institution, announced the opening of its newest restaurant in Sienna Plantation, an award-winning, master-planned community just outside of Houston. Located at 9211 Highway 6, the new Lupe Tortilla will be conveniently situated near popular retailers such as Academy, H-E-B and Chick-fil-A.

“The incredible growth in Missouri City made this an amazing opportunity right here near our own home town,” said Peter Holt, co-owner of Lupe Tortilla. “We’re truly passionate about what we do – it’s been part of our lives as long as we can remember. We’re proud to expand our family and offer the residents in Missouri City a spot at our table.”

Through quality-focused growth, Judson and Peter Holt,  along with their innovative management team, continue to approach the business with a family-operated mentality and treat their employees just the same. With impressively low turnover rates, room for growth, rewarding incentives and industry-leading processes, Lupe Tortilla has become a sought-after place to work for the most talented professionals in the restaurant industry. The company truly cares about those on its team and aims to continually educate, promote and recognize those that join the family. The new Sienna Plantation location will have approximately 90 positions available, and Lupe Tortilla is excited to bring new jobs to the community.

From humble beginnings, the original Lupe Tortilla opened its doors in 1983, situated in a 1940s frame house in the outskirts of Houston, and quickly received a dedicated following. Since then, the concept has always had an unwavering focus on providing excellent food and service to customers with their delicious and unique style of Mexican food made from scratch. Lupe’s innovative leadership and management team members have worked passionately to cultivate a fun, welcoming atmosphere where staff and customers always come first with fresh, high-quality, authentic Tex-Mex served in over 20 locations throughout Texas.

“What makes us unique is that our team has taken the time to develop systems and procedures for our amazing staff to replicate our hand-crafted dishes in each restaurant,” said Holt. “Everything is made in-house at each restaurant to the same high standards we started with in 1983 – every lime is hand squeezed, and every tortilla is rolled one at a time by our staff without a machine. We’ve looked, but have never found a technology that can do a better job and take as much pride as a person.”

Staying true to their roots, each restaurant embodies an authentic, comfortable atmosphere to match the authenticity of their dishes. The design and landscaping for the Sienna Plantation location includes natural and native elements from the Gulf Coast that transport diners to a new experience. “We take pride in our landscaping, because we feel it is the start of our guests’ experience,” said Holt. “We want them to know we care about them as soon as they arrive.”

The spacious outdoor patio offers seating for up to 35, and the mesquite trees, agaritas, blue agaves and yuccas offer a warm welcome to the exterior. Complementing materials like reclaimed barn wood, natural Texas-mined stones and reclaimed metal blend together seamlessly inside. The approximately 7,000-square-foot interior offers room for up to 300 patrons to enjoy favorites from the menu, which features over 60 made-from-scratch items including the world-famous sizzling lime and pepper marinated beef and chicken fajitas served alongside their soft and warm hand-pressed flour and corn tortillas that are made in-house.
