Junior Tennis Winter Break Camp

“Art I Become” Exhibit  George Memorial Library

Fort Bend County Libraries’ George Memorial Library announces the opening of a special exhibit in the Bohachevsky Gallery of the library, located at 1001 Golfview in Richmond. The exhibit showcases the artwork of Claire Payne and her daughters Kathryn Payne Bright and Terri Payne-Bieber and will be on display through February 28th. For more information, call 281-633-4734.

Acrylic Painting Class

This class is taught by professional painter Heather Roy and is held in five week sessions. The session will take place every Tuesday from January 8th to February 5th and students will paint “Winter Wonderland.” Painters of all skill levels are welcome and all supplies are provided. Taste of Fort Bend

The magic continues at the 4th Annual Taste of Fort Bend on Thursday, January 10th at Briscoe Manor, located at 5811 FM 723 in Richmond. WinterFest Rosenberg Railroad Museum

Grab your sweater and gloves and enjoy a day of winter fun! Blanket Drive for the Homeless

Sienna Plantation churches are sponsoring a “Bring-A-Blanket Sunday” and would like to invite the Sienna community to participate by donating a new or gently used blanket to be distributed to the homeless. Blankets can be dropped off during the week or on Sunday at participating churches:
• St. Catherine of Sienna Episcopal Church, located at 4747 Sienna Parkway
• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 8333 Scanlon Trace
• The Harvest United Methodist Church, located at 9029 Sienna Ranch Road
• Houston First Baptist, located at 4309 Sienna Parkway

The Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department hosts senior bingo monthly for area residents who are 50+. Visit with peers, enjoy breakfast and play friendly rounds of bingo for great prizes. 2nd Annual Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

The 2nd annual countywide Jigsaw Puzzle Competition presented by LearningRx Sugar Land will be held at Constellation Field Insperity Club, located at 1 Stadium Dr. in Sugar Land. Hope For Three Autism Advocates invite novice and experienced puzzlers, ages 10 and up, to an exciting and challenging two-hour timed competition. Teams of four rally together to raise awareness until all the pieces fit. Prestigious  awards and bragging rights guaranteed! iGeneration 101: Smart Phone Edition

For seniors having difficulty hearing, seeing or operating their smartphone device, iGeneration 101 will teach: Making your smartphone louder and easier to hear; Sending text messages, pictures and videos; Connecting to Bluetooth devices; Downloading Apps; Operating basic phone functions and much more! This class will be taught by Fort Bend ISD high school S.T.E.M. students in efforts to help your device work better for you! Are you a food enthusiast? Enjoy meeting new friends? Join the Senior Foodies! This program for senior citizens (50+) is an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant with great company. On the day of the event, the group will meet at the designated lunch location at 11:30 am.
