January 6th, 8 – 11 am

Super Run Galactic Heroes 5K

Grab your cape and fly over to this superhero-themed 5K run where you become a real-life superhero at Sugar Land Memorial Park, located at 15300 University Boulevard in Sugar Land. Every participant gets galactic blaster cuffs and a collectable run bib. Finishers will receive a medal. January 7th, 9 am

Bike the Bend for Literacy: Resolution Ride for Reading

Support Fort Bend Literacy Council and enjoy a scenic bike route throughout Fort Bend. This BP MS150 recommended ride is presented by Houston Federal Credit Union and starts at Foster High School, located at 4400 FM 723 Road in Richmond. Digging for Your Roots

Daniel Sample, Genealogy Manager of Fort Bend County Libraries, will demonstrate search strategies and quick tips while exploring the excellent sources available in the library. Participants will learn how to use Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest, databases available on the library’s website. YA Tech Club: Music-Making Apps

Ever wanted to make music? A song? Don’t know how to play an instrument? You can make music with your smartphone or tablet! Run for a Reason!  Supporting Fort Bend Seniors

Are you a runner or have a friend or family member who would love to run for a great cause? Come support Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels in the upcoming 2018 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Half Marathon. Donations raised through this event will continue to help seniors remain independent by enhancing their quality of life – ensuring hunger relief through proper nutrition. BYOC: Bring Your Own Craft

Do you knit, bead, make rugs, hand stitch or do any kind of handcraft? Chat and meet your neighbors while you work on your craft. Bring any project you’re working on, or come just to be inspired. All ages and levels of experience welcome. Jigsaw Puzzle Competition: Until Every Piece Fits

Make history with the first-ever county-wide jigsaw puzzle competition at Constellation Field, located at 1 Stadium Drive in Sugar Land. Bollywood Dance Fitness

10th Annual USA Fit Marathon,  Fort Bend Kia Half Marathon,  and Simon Spine 5K

This signature USA Fit running event has more than 1,000 participants cross the finish line in all three races combined. Runners go on an out-and-back route that starts and finishes on the Sugar Land campus of the University of Houston, located at 14000 University Boulevard. Family Fort Night

Celebrate Children’s Book Week with a special fort-building night. Paint a Pot, Plant a Seed

Brighten up your room with flowers in a hand-decorated pot! Flower pots, art supplies, potting soil and seeds will be provided at the First Colony Branch, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land. Water the seeds regularly, and you should have blooms by spring. Space is limited.
