Inspiration Stage Premieres Frozen JR. in New Works Showcase at JTF West in Sacramento

Isabella Fish, Mia de la Garza, Patrick Cashion, Nate Sarlls, Holden Hagelberger, Madison Willett and Emily Adams received callbacks for the opportunity to appear in MTI instructional guide choreography DVDs distributed with its Broadway JR. series of shows.

Inspiration Stage, attending its second Junior Theatre Festival (JTF) West in Sacramento on February 9th to 10th, performed a three-song set from Frozen JR. for the festival. Frozen JR. was the finale in the New Works Showcase. Let it Go, featuring Greatwood’s Lizzie Tyer as Elsa, punctuated the showcase with a rousing standing ovation and sing-along from the crowd.

“I was thrilled to portray Elsa and sing Let it Go at JTF West,” said George Ranch freshman Lizzie Tyer, 15. “I have always related to the character, so it was an amazing experience. Thank you to Mandy Seymore-Sensat and Sarah Patterson for their guidance and encouragement.”

“Annual JTF participation has become a high point of every season. Being surrounded by like-minded peers and professionals is rewarding and exhilarating,” said Mandy Seymore-Sensat, Inspiration Stage’s artistic director. “Our initial involvement has blossomed into invitations to perform in special events and opportunities to pilot shows under development.”

Inspiration Stage’s company of 38 students participated in both the showcase, and a 15-minute cut of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang JR.

The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang JR. cut received an Excellence in Music award, and the panel of professional adjudicators selected Emily Adams (Baroness) as the recipient for the Excellent Performance Award. Adams and Andrew Sackett (Caractacus Potts) were also selected as the iStage’s All-Stars, with Sackett chosen to perform a solo at the Freddie G Awards.
