Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital has named Eliud Faz as its new chief operating officer.

Faz served as a Houston Methodist administrative fellow and as an eight-year member of the management team at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, where he eventually was named director of finance.

He then served as chief financial officer for United Surgical Partners International, where his responsibilities included all financial operations of three acute care surgical specialty hospitals in the Houston area.

“Eliud’s background and expertise are a good fit for our hospital, and I know that everyone will quickly see first-hand how his skills, insights and communication approach reflect that,” said Chris Siebenaler, regional senior vice president and CEO of Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital.

Siebenaler said Faz’s strengths include both organizational/service line growth as well as employee engagement and relationship-building. At each step in his career, he has created business opportunities, improved patient satisfaction and helped peers and direct reports develop new skills and achieve new career objectives.

Eliud has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio. He lives in Sugar Land with his family; wife, Andrea, and two sons, Mateo and Samuel.
