Get Tips on Buying a Home at Sienna Branch Library Program

The idea of buying a home is exciting, but the process can be complicated and intimidating, especially for first-time home-buyers. Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library will present an informational program, “Considering Home-Ownership,” on Saturday, October 13th, from 2 to 3:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City.

Darryl Bowles and Kyky Edwards, professionals from the fields of finance, real estate and mortgage banking, will share their experience and advice so that home-buyers will be better prepared when purchasing a home. Hear about different types of loans that are available and how to qualify for them, as well as things that mortgage lenders look for when approving a loan.

Learn about the importance of budgeting for down payments and closing costs, house payments, home-owners’ insurance, property taxes and other expenses that come with owning a home. Those attending the program will leave with a better understanding of the factors that can affect their eligibility for a loan, the different mortgage options, and how to estimate what they can afford to pay for a home.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Sienna Branch Library at 281-238-2900 or the library system’s Communications Office at 281-633-4734.
