2018 Cattle Baron’s Ball chairs Susan Ryan and Jerré Williams chose “Drilling for a Cure” as the theme for the 29th annual bash, not only because both of their husbands have worked in the oil and gas industry, but also because Houston is the energy capital of the U.S. Further, the black and gold theme articulates their goal to “dream as big as Texas” to help the American Cancer Society save every cancer patient’s life.
“We are committed to continuing the quest to find a cure for cancer and helping the American Cancer Society raise funds for research, educational services and patient support programs,” said Ryan and Williams. “So many Houstonians’ lives have been touched by cancer, and the Cattle Baron’s Ball is just one way we can help make a difference. Since 1987, VICTORY has raised more than $53 million to support cancer-fighting initiatives via the American Cancer Society. In the past year, over 7,000 cancer patients have received services through American Cancer Society’s local programs and services.
