Discover Culinary Inspiration at First Colony Branch Library

For the New Year, find culinary inspiration at a special workshop, “New Year, New Recipes,” at Fort Bend County Libraries’ First Colony Branch Library on Saturday, January 18th, beginning at 2 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.

Professional chef Ellen Schwartz will demonstrate ways to maximize flavors to make food tastier. Gain confidence in the kitchen with new recipes that are easy to make, and discover simple, flavorful meals for the New Year!

Chef Ellen is a culinary instructor in Houston who taught with Leisure Learning for more than 20 years. She is a volunteer chef at Recipe for Success and has taught in professional kitchens at Central Market and Rice Epicurean.

One of her favorite pastimes is testing recipes for chefs and providing feedback to help their recipes come to publication.

The program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. Register online at www.fortbend.lib.tx.us, click on “Events,” select “First Colony Branch Library,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2800, or by visiting the library.
