Spring Has Sprung
Spring is finally here – no April foolin’ – and I for one am ready! It’s time to shake off those winter blues, get outdoors and enjoy nature, and in this issue, we bring all that the outdoors has to offer. From Easter egg hunts to a Historic Walking Tour of Sugar Land to a Superhero Fun Run to the 12th annual Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair, you’ll find several great events in this issue to be out and about in the Bend. Speaking of being out and about, have you been to the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land lately? Adrienne Barker, the Museum’s Director and Chief Development Officer, invited Zeenat Kassam Mitha and I over recently to tour their new exhibit, and frankly, it’s phenomenal. The Exotic Crystals of India exhibit debuted at our own Sugar Land Museum, and it is not to be missed. Check out Zeenat’s story about these amazing gems of nature on page 40.

Easter is one of my family’s favorite holidays, and this month, we celebrate Easter with an adorable recipe for Easter cupcakes. Now that my children are both older, I guess I’ll miss out on making treat-filled Easter baskets, watching them hunt for eggs, dressing them up in their Sunday best for Easter service . . . Who am I kidding? There will always be Easter baskets, egg hunts and new pink dresses and bow ties at momma’s house!
