2017 Fort Bend County Medical Society Board

The Fort Bend County Medical Society (FBMS) recently appointed Sapna Singh, MD as its board president and Asha Wurdeman, DO as secretary/treasurer for 2017.

Dr. Singh is a board certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). She works at the Texas Children’s Pediatric clinic in Sugar Land. She attended Texas A&M Science Center College of Medicine Medical School and completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She has lived most of her life in and around Sugar Land along with her husband, Mehul, and her two children, Savan and Surina.

Dr. Wurdeman is a board certified palliative medicine, geriatric medicine and family medicine physician licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas. She is affiliated with the Memorial Hermann Health System. Her medical education and training are from Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, California, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona and the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. She recently moved from Omaha, Nebraska, where she practiced palliative medicine for seven years. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.

With these two physicians serving in the leadership positions, FBMS’ vision for the year is to improve on the needs of community physicians through more opportunities to network, to gain continuing medical education (CME) and to impact legislative initiatives that affect physicians in their daily practice. The FBMS scholarship program will continue to be a highlight of the FBMS community outreach program, which serves not only to assist financially, but also as an incentive and inspiration to Fort Bend County students to pursue careers in medicine.
