U.S. News & World Report ranks Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital as No. 6 in Houston

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital the No. 6 hospital in Houston and No. 9 hospital in Texas. The rankings are based on scores in patient care, patient safety, outcomes, nursing, advanced technology and reputation.

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital was recognized for 14 types of care, including four high-performing specialties: gastroenterology & GI surgery, geriatrics, orthopedics and pulmonology & lung surgery. In addition, the hospital was highlighted for 10 high-performing procedures and conditions: COPD; colon cancer surgery; heart attack; heart failure; kidney failure; knee replacement; leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma; pneumonia; prostate cancer surgery and stroke.

At the system level, Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center was once again named to U.S. News & World Report’s Honor Roll and named the No. 1 hospital in Texas for the 13^th year. This is the 32^nd year in a row Houston Methodist Hospital was ranked in at least one specialty and placed on its Honor Roll (best hospitals in the country) for the eighth time. This year, Houston Methodist Hospital is ranked in 10 specialties, with eight specialties ranked in the top 20 and three in the top 10.

Besides Houston Methodist Sugar Land, three other Houston Methodist community hospitals ranked regionally. Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital tied for No. 18 in Texas and tied for No. 7 in the Houston metro area.
