Shakespeare’s age-old query rings true today in reference to the upcoming November 3rd election. Do we as voters participate by exercising our right at the polls, or do we simply give up and not participate in the democratic process as Hamlet ponders?
What’s at Stake in the November 3rd Election for Fort Bend County?
Though not a presidential election, this fall marks a critical election for Fort Bend County. We are voting for the highest-ranking official in our County, the County Judge responsible for leading and presiding over Commissioner’s Court where critical decisions are made regarding public safety, infrastructure and the County budget.
With the population of Fort Bend nearing the one million mark, the County employes over 4,000 individuals. Commissioner’s Court, led by the County Judge, is responsible for these employees and departments charged with running efficient, productive and accessible county services – services that we as residents rely on every day.
The Fort Bend Business Coalition (FBBC) is dedicated to cultivating and supporting elected officials who understand and act on the needs of the business community by exercising common sense in making decisions that foster that mindset and developing policies for the betterment of Fort Bend County. Leading a County requires both business acumen and fiduciary experience, a skill set that has been non-existent in our former County Judge. We can change that, with our vote.
What’s the Alternative?
This election, we have the opportunity to elect a County Judge who has extensive business experience, creating and leading a highly successful engineering firm from the ground up – one that employs over 400 individuals across two states. That’s the type of business experience needed to run Fort Bend County as a professional and viable entity.
The alternative in this election simply doesn’t have the resume to compete or perform in a business the size of Fort Bend County, because essentially, running the County IS running a business. And, we as voters need to hire the most qualified candidate with our vote.
Who’s at the Helm During an Emergency?
In addition to human resources, project planning and oversight and managing future projections and needs, the County Judge serves as head of Emergency Management, a critical issue for Fort Bend. Ike, Katrina and Harvey taught us that experienced, qualified leadership is crucial for our safety – the safety of our families – not to mention the flash floods, hurricanes and ice storms that our area routinely experiences.
Managing emergencies, saving lives is paramount for the safety and livlihood of our community, and dedicated, experienced leadership is essential when emergencies arise. We, as voters, need to put the best leader in charge of our safety with our vote.
Who are the Best Pro-Business Candidates on the November 3rd Ballot?
The FBBC is a general purpose, non-partisan, pro-business Political Action Committee (PAC) that supports candidates and elected officials who share our values in common and who are committed to fostering a favorable business climate in Fort Bend County. The FBBC is proud to support Fort Bend County candidates who share our commitment to keeping our County one of the best communities to live, work, play and raise our children both now and in the future.
Fort Bend County candidates endorsed by the FBBC in the upcoming November 3, 2026 election include:
Judge Daniel Wong, Fort Bend County Judge
Early voting is October 19 – 30, 2026 and the general election is November 3, 2026. When you go to the polls – and you do need to go and vote – remember County leadership matters in running the business of Fort Bend County.
