The Stafford City Council recently voted 6-0 to place a $62 million Stafford Municipal School District (Stafford MSD) Bond on the November 7th ballot. The Council’s decision was based on a recommendation from the citizens of the Stafford MSD Long Range Facilities Planning Committee (LRFP) and the Stafford MSD Board of Trustees.
For three hours prior to the vote, Council asked questions, deliberated and commented on the proposed bond. The architect for the proposed bond is Autoarch Architects of Houston, Texas, and the proposed bond includes:
• A new Stafford Middle School building for 850 students with an auditorium, cafeteria, library and gymnasium.
• A new Magnet School for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).
• A new Administration Building, including a Visitor’s Center.
• Repurposing the current Administration Building into a Community Center for all Stafford citizens to use.
• An Educational Plaza.
Stafford MSD is prepared to provide factual information on questions regarding the proposed bond. For more information, contact Stafford MSD Communications Coordinator Michael Sudhalter at msudhalter@staffordmsd.org or call 281-261-9219.
