Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital and the Sugar Land Skeeters will team up for “Pink in the Park” on Friday, May 18th at Constellation Field in Sugar Land. Join the Skeeters and proudly wear your pink as they take on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the “Pink Out” game starting at 7:05 p.m.
Memorial Hermann Sugar Land is teaming up with MD Anderson to honor breast cancer survivors on the field during the game. A silent auction will be held for fans to bid on pink baseball bats and jerseys worn by the players during the game. “It is truly an honor and a privilege to recognize and celebrate these individuals who inspire us all with their strength and courage,” said Greg Haralson, Sr., CEO of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. “Cancer affects so many in our area, and it is truly a powerful image to see the stadium filled with pink as we all come together to educate and raise awareness about breast cancer and its impact on families in our community.”
Proceeds from “Pink in the Park” will be used to enhance the breast cancer services offered through Memorial Hermann Sugar Land, including digital mammography for screening and diagnostics and the cutting edge 3-D breast tomosynthesis. This digital technology can detect smaller breast tumors that may be missed by traditional mammography. The technology is particularly beneficial for women with dense or fatty breast tissue.
Register to attend “Pink in the Park.” For information on the services available through MD Anderson Breast Care with Memorial Hermann-Sugar Land, call 877-40-MAMMO (62666).
