Two of the most amazing things happen each May. My son’s birthday, and the Super Bowl of holidays for us moms: Mother’s Day. Of course, this May is even more special as my daughter Kassidi graduates with her Master’s Degree from our beloved University of Texas – her second degree from my alma mater – so, it will be a busy and fun month full of celebrations for the Kaminski clan.
In this special Mother’s Day issue, we introduce you to an amazing mom of three. It’s been a minute since Quinisha Johnson had her two boys, so when she became pregnant with her third son, Jaxson, born last December, Quinisha was looking for a different birthing experience. She found exactly what she was looking for at Houston Methodist Childbirth Center at Sugar Land, and mom, baby and the entire Johnson family are now enjoying their newest addition. Read about Quinisha’s special delivery on page 8.
If you’re looking for a special delivery for mom this Mother’s Day, we’ve got you covered. Alisa Murray shares some Mother’s Day DIY gifts that are easy to make and so thoughtful. We also share Hearts & Flowers, our Mother’s Day gift guide with some great suggestions to make mom feel extra special.
As we are getting out and about more enjoying the spring weather, more and more activities are being scheduled. Be sure to check out our Events’ listing on page 22, and if you know of an upcoming event or are working on one for the community, please let me know. We would love to share your news!
I’ve heard it said that, “Life doesn’t come with a manual; it comes with a mother.” Manual, mother – we’re essentially one in the same. Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Fort Bend moms.
Stay focused,
