After a year-long hiatus, Harvest Green will reopen the community’s farmers market allowing the public to conveniently purchase farm-fresh produce and a multitude of locally sourced items on the third Saturday of each month beginning Saturday, May 15, 2021.
The market takes place from 8 am to noon at 8939 Harlem Rd, Richmond, TX 77406 near Messina Hof’s Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen.
“We are excited to be back,” said Scott Snodgrass, co-owner of Agmenity, which manages Harvest Green’s 12-acre Village Farm. “Purchasing from vendors at the market supports local farmers and merchants. It also allows consumers to connect in a meaningful way with agriculture and put high-quality food on the table.”
The market focuses on local and sustainable products, including the fresh vegetables and herbs grown on the Village Farm. Each month will incorporate a theme based on the time of year.
“Farmers markets are very kid-friendly,” Snodgrass said. “We want to showcase that by offering a fun and educational activity kids and parents can participate in together. May will be centered around mothers and flowers.”
In addition to browsing the market, families will be able to play on the adjacent playground and explore a living maze.
May’s vendors will include Wheeler Family Farm, Statkar Farms, Nando’s Honey and Young Hustler’s Coffee, Curb to Compost, Oudhlei, The Candlehouse & More, Peads Beauty, Chai’s Kitchen and more.
The Harvest Green Farmers Market is open rain or shine. Upcoming dates are June 19th, July 17th, August 21st and September 9th.
