Veranda Star-Spangled Celebration

Veranda is lighting the fuse on a star-spangled salute to the nation with fireworks, food trucks and fun! Everyone is invited to the free family event at 2020 Pearl Glen Drive to enjoy a DJ, a rock wall, bounce houses and various games. Be sure to bring swimsuits and towels for the water slide as well as blankets to sit on for the fireworks show. In between, tour the Richmond community’s eight well-appointed model homes.

Freedom 5K Run

Join First Colony Community Association (FCCA) for the 22nd Annual Freedom 5K Run and Family and Youth 1.5 mile walk at Lost Creek Park, located at 3703 Lost Creek Boulevard in Sugar Land. The route winds down the Oyster Creek trail system and finishes in Lost Creek Park. Proceeds benefit Fort Bend CORPS, a community revitalization effort for elderly, disabled or low-income residents.

Star Spangled Spectacular

This free family event is excited to announce its new location at the Sugar Land Festival site on 18355 Southwest Freeway! The night will kick off with great food, face painting, photo opportunities and an array of live music. Enjoy tunes from the band Satellite, DJ/Drummer Don Vaughn and Svet, an electro hip hop violinist. The fireworks show will begin at 9:45 pm and onsite parking lots open at 4 pm. Lot space is limited so please plan to come early!

Everyone feels a sense of national pride during Independence Day celebrations, but if you’re particularly patriotic and reside in the City of Meadows Place, you have the chance to prove your passion for the holiday in this annual event. Judging will take place on Monday the 3rd, so be sure to deck out your yard with stars, stripes and all shades of red, white and blue. The top three entries with the most dazzling decorations will be announced on July Fourth in McGrath Park, following the parade.
