absolutely! focus media, publisher of Fort Bend Focus, absolutely! Brazos and absolutely! Katy magazines, launched a new title in June at an event at the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. Attended by chamber members, business owners and community leaders, Publisher Patti Parish-Kaminski announced the debut of Fort Bend CEO, their new business-to-business magazine, and their partnership with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.
“Fort Bend CEO is a perfect example of ‘Fort Bend First,’” said Parish-Kaminski. “We are proud to bring a new publication focusing on the businesses in our community. Fort Bend CEO will serve as a fair and impartial resource for our business community featuring in-depth profiles and editorial covering topics including the economy, career trends, politics, business and development – all from a local perspective.”
Bringing the best and brightest in Fort Bend industry to readers required the best in a partnership. “The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to advocate for business in Fort Bend – a job that they do very well,” said Parish-Kaminski. “Partnering with them to bring a magazine designed to serve both as a resource, as well as to shine the spotlight on the multitude of industries in our business community, is a win-win.”
Debuting in October 2018, Fort Bend CEO will focus on the Fort Bend’s thriving business community of entrepreneurs, major corporations, shark tank start-ups and home-grown companies. Featuring an editorial board representative of Fort Bend’s rich diversity, Fort Bend CEO will tackle the issues businesses face and share success and advice from industry leaders. From candidate forums and election coverage to economic trends, Fort Bend CEO will present global topics on a localized level highlighting the issues that affect Fort Bend business.
“As the advocate for business excellence in Fort Bend County, we are in alignment with Fort Bend CEO in bringing an even greater focus on the local business community,” said Keri Schmidt, President/CEO of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. “Our combined efforts on behalf of our business community through this project complement our core values.” Of the 7,077 chambers in the United States, the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce is one of only 82 to receive 5-Star Accreditation from the United States Chamber of Commerce for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures and positive impact on the community.
Fort Bend CEO’s community coverage is defined in its masthead: business, politics and career. Fort Bend CEO is the only local business magazine tackling political issues that affect our business community. Heading up this effort is Associate Publisher Christopher Hill, who recently launched The Candidates Academy through his messaging, branding and communications company 180 Messaging.
“Discussing politics doesn’t need to be divisive,” said Hill. “Taking a non-partisan tact, Fort Bend CEO will tell all sides of a political issue. Avoiding local politics would be a disservice to our community as these issues impact our daily lives.”
The look and design of Fort Bend CEO is trend-setting. The covers will feature “Norman Rockwell-esque” portrait art by artist John Watson, formerly of Marvel Comics. “This unique ability to bring together the worlds of art and business will make Fort Bend CEO a stand-out publication,” said Parish-Kaminski. “We are thrilled with our clean, innovative design concept for our newest endeavor, and we can’t wait to share our first issue with Fort Bend.”
