2024 Fort Bend County Fair Queen Saige Sowa.
It was a royal night at the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo. 16-year-old Saige Katherine Sowa, a Stephen F. Austin High School junior, was crowned 2024 Fort Bend County Fair Queen. Queen Saige is the daughter of Bill and Lori Sowa of Sugar Land and has a brother, Connor, a sophomore. Both are livestock exhibitors at the Fair. Saige was vying for the iconic title among 11 young ladies who were remarkable quality candidates with impeccable personalities. As Queen, Saige will represent the Fair during the Fair’s run and will serve as a Fair ambassador throughout the year. She also receives a $5,000 scholarship, crowns, a buckle, a fair life membership, and more. Maddison Malek of Needville High School was named First Runner-up, and Miss Congeniality was awarded to Hannah Funderburk of Foster High School.

In 2022, Saige won the title of Fort Bend County Fair Jr. Fair Queen. She is a 14-year ballet student and five-year BalletForte company dancer, second-year FFA Secretary, second-year Journey 4-H President, and Membership Recognition Chair of the National Charity League – Sugar Land Jewels chapter. She is working towards her Gold Award in Girl Scouts and Lone Star Degree in FFA. This year, Saige will exhibit her steer, Showtime, and has earned several top home economic recognitions for her photography, hand needlework, baking, and more at this year’s Fair.
Saige plans to attend Texas A&M for her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and start her journey to becoming a veterinarian. She is thankful for the many opportunities and friendships that God has placed in her life. She plans to give back to the community that has generously supported her in her educational endeavors.
