The “Birthday Quarter” Stats

Consuming – and wearing – the Veuve. A winning combination!

This week marked the day, the actual birthday – the day the deed was done 60 years ago – associated with the official “Birthday Quarter.”  Since it is football season, and it’s all about the numbers, here are the stats for the first 15 days of the “Birthday Quarter.”

Types of cakes consumed at various locales:  Eight.  Now I did not eat all of said cakes, but I did sample each and every one as proper manners dictate.

Amazing gifts self-purchased: Seven.  In my defense, I was in NYC, and a girl has to shop while in New York.  I’m pretty certain it’s law there.  The whole “when in Rome” scenario realized and applied – right?

Amazing and thoughtful presents gifted by the best of the best – my people – the most amazing of these treasures being time spent together in raucous revelry:  Nineish.

Greetings and well wishes:  199.

Girlfriend lunches on the books:  Three.

Girlfriend happy hours on the books:  Two.

Official birthday meals:  Three.

Glasses of champagne consumed:  Infinite.

Only fifteen days in, I’m feeling pretty confident about the remaining “Birthday Quarter” season.  Heck, I’m doing better than my beloved Longhorns when it comes to the numbers. Of course, much of it has to do with the fact that despite the copious amounts of cake and champagne, I haven’t gained any weight.  Winning!

The highlight reel of the first 15 is that I now own the ultimate in champs coolers, thanks to an unplanned trip to Neiman Marcus in San Antonio.  While grabbing lunch in the Mariposa, which Mr. Kaminski truly does not like but will never utter those words as he knows how much I love lunching at Neiman’s, my champagne now travels in style it its own personal puffy coat to insure it stays at the right temperature, all while doubling as a fashion statement.  It’s likely the greatest invention ever right up there with penicillin and the telephone.

Of course, it’s a Veuve Clicquot brainchild, and that makes perfect sense since Madame Clicquot – a woman – revolutionized champagne production by inventing the riddling table making champagne clearer, creating the first vintage champagne and creating the first blended rosé champagne.  Madame was a boss taking over Veuve Clicquot at age 27 establishing champagne as the favored drink for European society and expanding the brand’s reach taking it global.  Naturally I had to add her and the latest Veuve accessory to the team, thanks to Mr. Kaminski and Lisa Ann.

Overall, I’m ranking the first 15 at a solid Number One in the polls.  We’ll see how the rest of the season turns out, but early indicators are the “Birthday Quarter” will take the title and forever be known as a championship season.  See y’all next week – on the porch!
