On July 8, Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels (FBS) Board of Directors announced Robert “Bob” Hebert’s appointment as Interim Chief Executive Officer. A longtime supporter of the organization and community leader, Hebert will step into the role to help guide the organization until a permanent CEO is identified, and continue its success in serving Fort Bend and Waller County seniors.

“Judge Hebert is well respected and has long been an integral part of the community,” said FBS Board Chairman Ray Aguilar. “As the Interim CEO of Fort Bend Seniors, he will continue to do what is best for the community and seniors we serve and help move our organization to greater success in the future.”

In his role as Interim CEO, Hebert will work alongside the Board of Directors and staff to ensure operational efficiencies and programmatic impact, as well as support the organization’s search for the next CEO/Executive Director.

“I am truly honored to join Fort Bend Seniors as the organization grows in its mission of serving our community’s older adults,” Hebert said. “With deep respect for the organization’s legacy and leadership, I look forward to working with the board, community leaders, partners and volunteers as we plan for the future needs of our community.”

Hebert brings more than 40 years of experience in strategic management and planning, principally through his consulting firm, Robert Hebert and Associates. This includes time spent with many public and private agencies around the country to address operational and financial challenges. Hebert is perhaps best known for his many years of public service, including four terms as County Judge of Fort Bend County, Texas, Temporary Receiver for the City of Arcola and City Manager under a consulting contract to the City of Rosenberg. He holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a Doctorate in Management from California Coast University. Hebert and the Executive Team at FBS— including Chief Financial Officer Liz Toomey, Director of Development and Public Relations Leah Ghobrial and Volunteer & Outreach Manager Rick Branek—will continue to ensure the day to day operations run smoothly, while focusing on maintaining the high level of excellence that is associated with Fort Bend Seniors’ services throughout Fort Bend and Waller Counties.

“All FBS clients – in both the Meals on Wheels and Congregate Center programs – will receive the quality, consistent and compassionate service they’ve come to expect from us in the coming months,” said Ghobrial. “We take our mission seriously, knowing that in the past year, we’ve seen a steady increase in seniors reaching out to us in need of our services. With the help of Judge Hebert’s experience in organizational best practices and vast knowledge of the community, we look forward to increasing our capacity to serve our local seniors for many years to come.”
