The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce took home the first place award for its marketing program on the tenth annual celebration of the Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair presented at the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executive Conference Annual Media Awards on June 25th. Reflecting the significance of this first place honor, the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce competed against all of the larger chamber in Texas, most of which have substantially greater budgets.

Marketing campaigns were judged on a wide range of criteria: type of media used, the call to action and the cohesiveness of the overall project. Judges identified whether the campaign captured the “voice” of the chamber, community or specific project it represented.

“We are so pleased to be recognized for our marketing efforts in bringing awareness to this wonderful non-profit event,” said Keri Schmidt, president of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and founder of the Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair. “We recently celebrated our tenth annual festival, breaking several records from previous years. We will strive to further our fundraising for the affair’s beneficiary, the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.”

Fort Bend Focus Magazine was proud to serve as a sponsor of this year’s award-winning event, and on the coattails of the tremendous success of this year’s festival, the Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair has announced that next year’s event will be held from April 23 to 27, 2014.  For event details, visit sugarlandwineandfoodaffair.com.
