Ladybugs attending the event at the Richmond Healthcare Center included Dr. Eugenia Blomstrom, Milly Jones, Dee Dee Blomstrom, Velvete Rojubokan and Vicki Latham.
The Ladybugs recently helped to spread joy to patrons in hospice, retirement and general healthcare at the Richmond Healthcare Center in Fort Bend. The group provided fun games and prizes, sang songs and brought each patron fresh-baked pastries and chocolates, Mardi Gras beads, magazines, toiletries and other items to help brighten their day.
The Ladybugs, a social/civic group in existence since 2007, flutters to local area facilities to offer encouragement and motivation and lots of hugs and warm smiles, while helping the patrons participate in various activities or entertainment that they provide. Their efforts to spread good cheer and joy let individuals in healthcare facilities know that they are being thought about.
The Ladybugs are now in the process of collecting teddy bears to distribute to handicapped patrons at local area facilities at Christmastime. Last year’s initiative was a huge success, and the group starts collecting bears during the summer. To donate new or gently used teddy bears, contact Ladybugs’ Coordinator Vicki Latham at vmlatham@yahoo.com for information on where to drop off teddy bear donations.
