January 2018 – Exclamation Points!

Patti and Tim Kaminski at the Houston Museum of Natural Science’s Jingle Tree.

It’s a new year, and we at Fort Bend Focus couldn’t be more excited!  Whether you resolve to live a healthier lifestyle, focus on being a better you or just having an amazing New Year’s Eve party, we are here to help with several ideas to get you started down an amazing path to 2018.  Just check out our New Year, New You features, and set your goals – you can do it!

Speaking of goals, each year my kids set a goal of seeing snow somewhere during the winter, and it’s typically not at home.  But last month, we enjoyed a rare moment in Fort Bend.  It snowed!  Many of our friends and neighbors sent us pictures of the Winter Wonderland that was created around the Bend, and we just had to share them with our readers.  Check them out on page 72.

As we embark on a new year, I’m reminded of a quote from English poet Edith Lovejoy Pierce.  “We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”

Fort Bend Focus is your book – your community magazine – and we want to tell your story.  So pick up the book called Opportunity and let us hear from you.  As you are out and about in Fort Bend, send us your photos, and when you do something amazing, let us know.  We would love to know what you, your friends and family are doing in 2018.

Happy New Year, and may all of your resolutions come true!

Stay focused,
