The older I get, the faster the years are flying by.  I cannot believe Fort Bend Focus is nine years old. Wow! We have all of our advertisers who believe in us and all of our faithful readers to thank for our success, and during this month of giving thanks, we are indeed thankful.

As time keeps flying by, the holidays will be here before we know it. For this month’s cover story, we are bringing you an icon in the Fort Bend community, someone who can help with your holiday gift list: J Loggins Jewelers. What an institution this independently owned jewelry store has become!  You’ll read how Jan has diversified her business to accommodate all price levels, as Jan says, “We only look expensive.” With their new line of fashion jewelry, J Loggins offers everything from watch repair to one-of-a-kind custom pieces. You have to stop in and look around; they will treat you like family.

It is definitely time to get in the shopping mood with the annual Sugar Plum Market on November 8th and 9th. Once again, we are the media sponsor for this holiday shopping extravaganza that benefits many non-profits in our community through the Fort Bend Junior Service League. These ladies do an amazing job with this event, and we are proud to support their efforts. And, speaking of the holidays, we have our ever popular Holiday Gift Guide on page 50 to help you with your gift list.

Fort Bend Focus has been busy Out and About in our community and has been Seen on the Scene at many events. We have covered everything from Town Square lighting up pink to the Asians Against Domestic Abuse luncheon. Look for your photos online at www.fortbendfocus.com.

Enjoy your families at Thanksgiving, and give thanks for those serving overseas and here locally who can’t be with their own families.

Stay focused – and thankful,

Stay focused!
