Change is Good
At my house, perhaps the three most dreaded words in the English language are “back to school.” Of course, it all depends on who you ask. I personally love the idea of getting back into a somewhat normal routine after the lazy days of summer. Change is good.
As always, the new school year brings both change and anticipation, and we’ve done our part to help you and your kids be prepared. Our absolutely! Change, a time of transition, describes the past few months here at absolutely! focus media. After working with Michael and Lisa for over five years growing, building, defining our four award-winning, monthly community magazines, over the summer I purchased the company and now serve as the publisher. Right here with me is Jessica Kij with her nearly ten-year tenure at Fort Bend Focus, who now serves as our associate publisher. It’s an exciting time for us all as Michael and Lisa pursue other interests, and absolutely! focus media is poised for growth and success. In fact, we recently won seven national awards and one local award for our magazines, and the best is yet to come. Yes, change is good.
I’m sure Lynn Povich, the first female Senior Editor at Newsweek magazine, has seen her fair share of change in her role in the publishing world, and she shares my sentiment that change is good. Povich said, “Change is often rejuvenating, invigorating, fun . . . and necessary.” I couldn’t agree more.
Best of luck to all of our students on the new school year. It will be rejuvenating, invigorating, fun, and of course, necessary. Work hard and finish strong. At absolutely! focus media, we certainly will.
