Dr. Elissa Wedemeyer: Providing Comprehensive Eye Care for 26 Years

This month marks Dr. Elissa Wedemeyer’s 26th year of practicing independent optometry in Fort Bend. She recently celebrated the completion of her fifth year at her current location at University Avenue and Highway 6.

Dr. Wedemeyer is pleased to be practicing in a field where there is constant research and improvements in the treatment options for improving vision correction and eye health care. She utilizes the optical coherence tomography instrument (OCT) that acts as a noninvasive form of imaging, using light waves to detect conditions like Wet Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Cystoid Macular Edema, Glaucoma and other conditions affecting the optic nerve and macula. These conditions can go undetected for many months, threatening loss of vision without proper diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Wedemeyer stays abreast of the latest vision correcting improvements in contact lens materials and designs. She fits the new scleral contact lenses for patients with keratoconus and other distorted corneal conditions. She has treated many patients using the mypoia correcting CRT (Corneal Reshaping Treatment) lens to prevent myopia progression. Her staff is educated in all of the advanced lens designs and coating to provide a thinner, lighter and greater field of vision in eye glass designs. They also have a full line of frames for the whole family.

Dr. Wedemeyer and her staff take pleasure in providing their patients with a high tech, comfortable and inviting office. For more information, call 281-499-2600 or visit www.drelissawedemeyer.com.
