City Council Accepts Donation for Plaza Development and Patio Improvements

Sugar Land City Council accepted donations totaling $118,856.66 for the development of the Eagle Plaza at Sugar Land Memorial Park and outdoor patio improvements at the T.E. Harman Center. The donations came from the Sugar Land Legacy Foundation, a 501(c)3 that works with those interested in making donations to support activities and capital projects that benefit the Sugar Land community.

Of the total donation amount, $100,000 came from Sugar Land residents Col. R.P.S. Bhalla and his wife, Kanwal. As agreed upon by the Bhallas, their donation will be used for the development of the plaza surrounding the eagle sculpture at Sugar Land Memorial Park.

The remaining $18,856.66 came from Drs. Alan and Antoinette Cramer, long-time members of the T.E. Harman Center, Sugar Land’s senior citizen center. Their generous donation will go toward building a retractable shade system for the outdoor patio area at the center.
