absolutely! focus media, publisher of community magazines Fort Bend Focus, absolutely! Brazos, absolutely! Katy and Fort Bend CEO, is proud to announce Diane Strehl as the new General Manager.

Strehl has been in the Houston area since 1990 and currently resides in Richmond, Texas.  She comes to afm with over 30 years’ experience in publishing and is very active in the Fort Bend community.  With stints at the Naples Daily News in Naples, Florida and at the Greensheet in Houston, Strehl was named Gannet Corp’s Top Manager in 2000 and 2001 while at the Fort Myers News Press in Florida.  For the past nine years, Strehl has been in Fort Bend at the Fort Bend Star Newspaper and the Fort Bend Business Journal, most recently as General Manager.

“I’ve known Diane, her stellar work ethic and unparalleled professionalism for several years,” said afm Publisher Patti Parish-Kaminski. “I’ve had the privilege to work with her on projects, and she is a fantastic addition to afm. Bringing her aboard will allow us to do more of what do best – cover the people, places and happenings in our community,”

Though not born in Texas, according to Strehl, “I got here as quickly as I could – twice!”  The move back to Texas allowed her to be close to her three children and five grandchildren with number six on the way this August.

“I absolutely love what I do for a living, and I am blessed to have had an amazing career that continues with afm,” shared Strehl.
